Villa Park High School is a public suburban high school located in Orange County California. The school was built in 1964 and is one of four comprehensive high schools in the Orange Unified School District. Located in the City of Villa Park, the school serves students residing in Villa Park, Orange, and portions of Anaheim.

Current enrollment is 2,400+ students. The ethnic breakdown of the student population is 12% Asian, 22% Hispanic, 2% African American and 61% White (not Hispanic). The professional staff includes 87 teachers, four counselors, a library media specialist, an activities director and four administrators. A dedicated classified staff also supports the school program.

Villa Park High School is dedicated to supporting student achievement in academics and co-curricular programs.

The regular school day begins at 7:55 AM. A number of zero period courses are available for students who rise early and want to finish their school day earlier than their peers. Zero period courses meet each day from 6:55-7:50 AM.

Villa Park High School’s mission is to provide a learning environment where students are challenged to reach their individual potential in the acquisition of knowledge and the development of personal, cultural and democratic values essential for future success.

  • Develop the ability and confidence to learn independently.
  • Read and comprehend informational, functional, and literary text.
  • Analyze problems and produce and evaluate viable solutions.

    Skilled Communicators:
  • Listen and comprehend information, take notes, and report accurately what was presented.
  • Speak with confidence within a group and to an audience.
  • Write logically developed and mechanically proficient reports, letters, essays and narratives.
  • Use a computer and other appropriate technology to communicate electronically and present information via documents, graphs and charts.

    Socially and Personally Responsible:

  • Demonstrate respect and accountability as a member of the school community.
  • Identify and evaluate appropriate life paths and career choices.
  • Understand the benefits of being physically fit.


Principal's Message

Doctors, lawyers, educational leaders, presidents of large corporations, professional athletes, military leaders, and hard working contributors to community are produced each year at Villa Park High School.  Villa Park High School is synonymous with excellence.  Taking our place along side of the finest comprehensive high schools in the nation, Villa Park excels academically, athletically, and in our visual and performing arts. We work hard in preserving our long-standing tradition of producing successful citizens.  Villa Park students have earned the reputation of being winners, which has translated into success at the next level.  Many of our graduates report that they are well prepared for the next stage of their lives.  Our academic achievement is well above district, county and state averages.  We pride ourselves in offering a wide variety of courses that challenge our student body.  Our staff of professionals holds our students to the highest standards.  With many of our top students being accepted to the finest universities, Villa Park High School prepares its students for what is next.

The VPHS community is continuing to use the SPARTAN Way as our guide to the behaviors we expect from all shareholders. Our goal is to create an environment where all students take ownership in their schools programs, facilities and legacy.  We believe students that are engaged in all facets of the educational process are well rounded and better prepared.  The school is located in the city of Villa Park and proudly services students and families from Villa Park, Orange, and portions of Anaheim Hills.  Villa Park serves a predominantly suburban population, with students from a variety of socio-economic and ethnic backgrounds and with a wide diversity of educational needs.  Our diversity is one of our strengths, students from different backgrounds and life experiences coming together to influence our school and community is a beautiful thing to see.
